BlueHealth Innovation Center facilitates innovation and entrepreneurship on the crossroads of technology and healthcare. We support young start-ups and scale-ups, trigger a mindset shift within the broader healthcare industry, as well as stimulate student-entrepreneurship in order to support the necessary digital transformation of our healthcare sector.My role as Regional Manager for the greater Ghent region included:- Educating, supporting, coaching and connecting HealthTech entrepreneurs within the Flemish ecosystem.- Co-organizing an 8-month pre-accelerator program for early-stage HealthTech entrepreneurs.- Co-organized the H-impact program (https://www.h-impact.be/) together with Ghent Univeristy in 2019 and 2020 to teach entrepreneurial skills to international students, researchers and professionals.- Building out the local healthcare stakeholder network in the greater Ghent region while working closely with universities, local governments and industry partners.- Organizing workshops, inspirational events, hackathons (e.g. https://www.hack4health.be/) and innovation bootcamps.As a private-public partnership, BlueHealth Innovation Center brings together a variety of stakeholders that each play a key role within the digital transformation of our healthcare system. Building the student entrepreneurship community at Durf Ondernemen (Dare To Venture), a Ghent University initiative aiming to support student entrepreneurs in developing critical entrepreneurial skills to launch, accelerate and grow their businesses. My role included:- educating, supporting and connecting, as well as build bridges between student entrepreneurs, internal & external partners through coaching, workshops, events, strategic thinking and developing a long-term strategy towards becoming the go-to platform for student-entrepreneurs in Belgium. - I was responsible for our international 'DO! Goes USA 2018' competition, as well as our 2-month Student Acceleration Track. 'DO! Goes USA' has grown ever since, which is now a yearly 7-month pre-acceleration program for entrepreneurial students and researchers, called 'Expedition DO!'.Durf Ondernemen (Dare To Venture) plays a crucial role in a broader network of stakeholders who are creating a supportive environment in order to foster entrepreneurship and innovation.
