I am a first year MSc Mechanical engineering student, fervent climber and piano playing enthusiast. My field of interest within mechanical engineering is optomechatronics, but I’m an enthusiast for anything involving precision engineering. What I enjoy most is designing and problem solving. I work most efficiently on my own, supported by a team whenever I get stuck on a problem. I enjoy lengthy discussions on possible solutions to engineering problems. Currently I am working part-time on the continuation of my Bachelor End Project. I had to design a setup to measure the stiffness of a Hertzian contact in tangential direction and compare the results to a theoretical model. Currently I am still working on this research. Apart from the stiffness, the goal is to also map the behaviour of creep and hysteresis.
