In 2014 I have realized the merger between Bike Totaal and Biretco in a close cooperation with Navitas (PE) and the managing board of Biretco. The new scale made the category management program soon normative for the A brand manufacturers in the industry. In 2017 I developed and introduced a new businessmodel whereby 90% of the assortment of the franchise formulas was ordered from contract suppliers. This significantly strengthened the market leadership in the Netherlands and Belgium. Total store turnover grew from 350 million euros to more than 1 billion euros (ex VAT). DRG has grown during this period into a leading retail organization in the bicycle industry in Europe.

Under my management Bike Totaal made a transition from a sales support franchise formula to a data-driven retail organisation. Intensification of the cooperation with franchisees and suppliers led to a very successful introduction of category management. The scalability of this central planning model and the potential strengthening of the role and position of our retail organization, for manufacturers, franchisees and consumers, was an important motive for the merger with Biretco in 2014.

Plantage Books & More is a subsidiary franchiseformula of Retail Development Company.With the sale of 20 company owned stores to independent entrepreneurs, I became responsible for the development of a completely new franchise formula. During this period, the number of bookstores in the Netherlands grew to 35 with a total turnover of approximately 32 million euros in 2008.As managing director of Plantage Books & More I was part of the RDC management team.
