I conduct research on a wide array of issues of strategic importance, with a particular focus on cyber security, politics in the Middle East and North Africa, and nuclear security issues. I set up and wrote studies on grand societal challenges, the fragility of states in the MENA-region, the future of cyber threats, conflict and cooperation on scarce resources, and he led the nuclear timeline project. Next to writing reports, I regularly chair round-tables, and I organize and moderate bi-monthly informal discussions (‘cafes’) on key security events.
