As Project Lead SXSW on behalf of CreativeNL I will act as project leader for the Dutch strategic exhibition participation at SXSW and play a connecting role between all parties involved.

The IDEA trade association represents the Netherlands’ most prominent organizers (live communication and -activation agencies) of business events. IDEA members mastermind and implement unique and creative events of a high calibre for all their clients (B2B, B2E and B2C). The IDEA trademark of quality is a guarantee of their creativity, professionalism and continuity. IDEA safeguards the collective interests of its associated agencies. And in order to achieve this, we have a long history of good relations with government agencies, other event organizers, suppliers, legal advisors, insurance companies and trade and general press, amongst others. IDEA wants to set the benchmark for the event and live communication industry. We work together with our members to chart its course. In doing so we aim is to contribute to its further professionalization and development.In my role as managing director of IDEA I facilitate the board, run all business processes and communication and connect members, experts, professionals, next generation talent and other stakeholders in the event and live communication industry.

Due to the COVID-19 measures, events can only be organized with strong limitations. This has a major impact on the events sector. Fieldlab Events has been created by the events sector in collaboration with the Dutch government. The aim of Fieldlab Events is to develop validated building blocks, which form proof of the safe and reliable approach needed. This is done in co-creation with companies, governments, interest groups and the public. Purpose is to create trust with the national government in order to have assessment frameworks making it possible to adapt the COVID road map. The Fieldlab Events program focuses on differentiation of different events (business and public) and situations (inside and outside, static or dynamic, etc.) and accelerating the return to full operation for events.

LiveCom Alliance is the pan-European authority representing the live communication and event industry, operating independently to create a stronger, more sustainable and more interesting playing field. LiveCom Alliance believes that live encounters do build a stronger future in all societies and industries, especially in this digital day and age. LiveCom Alliance was established in 2016 as a non profit foundation on the belief that the live communication and event industry deserves a pan-European approach and audience, and would benefit from an overarching dedicated yet independent institution. Aiming to develop our industry through exchange of local expertise, inspiring insights, best practices and research.

Since ten years it's a true privilege to be part of renowned awards and established competitions all over the continent. Being able to judge most creative and effective events and experiential projects from all over the world. Therefore it's an honor to participate in the jury of Conventa Awards since 2022.

It's great to be back as a jury member at European Best Event Awards, traditionally celebrated during Bea World Festival. Here it all started in 2013; my first experience as a jury member and eventually the inspiration for the foundation of LiveCom Alliance. I stayed for years and now, after a short absence I am back in this competition.

Following my position as a jury member I also joined the Advisory Board. Among several European Association colleagues and event and live communication experts, I was asked to contribute to the renewed concept for the 2014 edition of the European Best Event Awards transforming a traditional award show into a festival format offering awards, networking and (learning/transforming) content. The result: Bea World Festival, an International festival of events and live communication. I'm also aiming on contributing to the Dutch event and live communication industry by bringing back my experiences and extended network of International event professionals in my position as managing director of IDEA (Independent Dutch Event Association). Last but not least I'm an ambassador of Dutch Event Creativity and Craftsmanship 'spreading the word' through sharing stunning cases and explicit vision Internationally.

Being able to judge most creative and effective events and experiential projects from all over the world. Therefore it's an honor to participate in the jury of EVCOM London Live Awards from 2023.

Being a jury member is rewarding in many ways. Besides maintaining a valuable international network of renowned industry colleagues and experts, it also brings a huge dose of inspiration. I've joined the jury of Eventex Awards, on and off, over the past years. Since 2021 I am jury president of the category Brand Experiences.
