Construction Manager
Current• Responsible for project management, const management, time management, quality management and contract administrations.• Responsible for review and interpretation of plans, specifications, and contact documents during all phases of project development to include both design and construction.• Responsible for proactive issue resolution and claim avoidance during construction. Actively monitors scope, schedule, budget, and prepare cost estimates as needed.• Analyze and process work orders, writes project related correspondence, and supervises inspections personnel. Seek input from the project controls group regarding the schedule/cost impact and works with the project design group, materials, environmental, traffic engineering right of way, the public and all other parties necessary to meet contract schedules and requirements.• Ensure environmental, safety, and quality compliance and oversees utility coordination throughout the construction process. • Identify and provide on-site technical training and mentoring for inspection staff as needed. • Ensure inspection tasks are adequately covered and all project construction activities are accurately documented. • Maintain Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) budget and staffing plans development. • Conduct pre-construction conference and construction progress meetings to resolve construction related issues and partnering meetings to ensure both stakeholder coordination and citizen concerns are met.• Actively participates in constructability and biddability reviews during the design development phase.• Ensure that pay quantities are reconciled with contractors and all project communication and decision making are in conformance to policies and procedures established by the Department and contract documents.• Maintain and report contractor’s daily production rates, prepare independent detailed construction estimates.• Recommend resolution of field construction problems recommends design changes.
