I am a current postdoctoral research fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital where I work with the Harvard Aging Brain Study. I utilize R, bash (Unix), and Python to answer questions about Alzheimer's disease. Let's cure Alzheimer's!!In Spring 2022, I graduated with a Ph.D. in Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University, and my dissertation focused on understanding the genetic mechanisms behind asymptomatic AD as well as developing a multi-level bioinformatic pipeline for target validation in AD drug discovery efforts. Through my education, I've discovered that my life's passions are for learning new things, challenging myself, problem-solving, and critical thinking in addition to science and technology. In the near future, I would love to contribute not only my technical skills in computational genetics, applied statistics, medicinal chemistry, and molecular pharmacology, but also my critical thinking and problem-solving skills to more diverse needs in business, consulting, data science, technology transfer, biotech, or industry.

Postdoctoral Research FellowVanderbilt University Medical Center Mar 2022 - Sep 2022Nashville, Tennessee, UsUnder the continued mentorship of Dr. Timothy Hohman, I finished research projects related to my graduate dissertation prior to transitioning over to a new fellowship. -
Graduate Student ReseacherVanderbilt University May 2019 - Mar 2022Nashville, Tennessee, UsI was a graduate student in the laboratory of Dr. Timothy Hohman, where we investigate the genetics of Asymptomatic Alzheimer's Disease. We are interested in what genetic and proteomic factors protect these individuals from the cognitive impairment associated with AD, and how this information may be used for future drug discovery efforts. -

Graduate Student ResearcherVanderbilt University Aug 2015 - Mar 2019Nashville, Tennessee, UsIn the laboratory of Dr. Craig Lindsley, my project focused on developing novel, selective positive allosteric modulators for the metabotropic glutamate receptor 7 (mGluR7). These molecular tools were used to examine the roles of mGluR7 in both neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders with our collaborators in the Vanderbilt Center for Neuroscience Drug Discovery. -
Graduate Student InternVanderbilt University Center For Technology Transfer And Commercialization Mar 2018 - Sep 2018I was a Graduate Student Intern at the VU Center for Technology Transfer and Commercialization where I gained an understanding of the commercialization process for technologies and inventions discovered at the University. I performed patent and prior art searches, wrote a non-confidential summaries, and participated in market and licensing partnership research.I was exposed to licensing agreement negotiations and copyright law in addition to the above.

Undergraduate ResearcherUniversity Of Illinois At Urbana-Champaign 2013 - 2015Champaign, Il, UsI worked in the laboratory of Dr. Rachel Smith-Bolton where I investigated the role of actin binding proteins on tissue regeneration in Drosophila melanogaster imaginal wing discs. During this time I developed an understanding of Drosophila genetics and husbandry, immunofluorescent imaging, and confocal microscopy. This research culminated in an undergraduate research thesis entitled "A mutation in Peanut disrupts normal and regenerative developmental timing in Drosophila melanogaster."
