● Worked with my mentor, pulling business logic from legacy code, and drawing up documentation for the offshore development team● I used DB2 on an intel Z series mainframe to view COBOL code for translation to Java● After reviewing old business logic, I used Visio to produce several function flow and class relationship diagrams● The project represented a proof of concept for the migration off the mainframe and into client server architecture● It ran a translated-into-java copy of the old business logic in Pivotal's Gemfire (a distributed in-memory data grid, written in Java)● Some new business logic was integrated into the project, and I therefore communicated with our business partners frequently● The project was managed using the agile methodology.
