Evolved and led strategy to have influence over all Morrison contracts nationwide. Accountable for subcontractor spend of £129m with 1500 contractors.Duties included promoting, implementing and supporting local teams that encompassed Morrison/Client contract,procedural and compliance requirements. Ensured that contractual arrangements were underpinned by commercial reality especially within challenging market conditions.Very involved in supporting the bid team and subsequent activity in the mobilisation of new contracts. I provided additional support to contracts that performed below requirements and negotiations for succesful re-bid works. For some new contracts I was the procurement point of contact for all requirements ie materials, palnt and agency labour. Extensive travelling was required and regular contact with personnel at all levels including Contract Managing Directors and the Morrison Board was maintained.Central Procurement Team was disbanded after a business restructure in May 2011.

Responsible for leading and developing the transition of a local authority procurement function into the private sector. Accountable for an external spend of £8m materials , £14m subcontractors. Department restructured from 21 to 8 that included a stores function delivered by 4 accounting for a material turnover of £2.2m. Produced significant reduction in volume and procurement management costs. Examples of this were subsequently used to assist in the modelling of other contracts within the parent companies. Part seconded to the Morrison (Anglian Water Group) Procurement Forum. Actively involved in ongoing national procurement initiatives.I led and delivered a further in house function review to determine inhouse or outsourced function.Designed and deployed van stock replenishment systems for 80 vehicles.Led action group to evolve and implement an electronic job costing/invoicing system for key suppliers. This peaked at 600 transactions per week or 80% of all material purchases.Consolidated supplier base from 1200 to 400 to further achieve economies of scale and take further advantage of purchasing power. Also responsible for the control and collection of waste and recycling detail for the business and ongoing evaluation and improvement of the environmental performance. This included the retrieval of significant revenue generated from scrap metal recovery.Involved in the mobilization of new contracts in the region. Much involvement in the demobilisation of CityCare.
