Lead Project Engineer for Industrial Carry Deck and Rough Terrian Cranes

•Lead analytical analysis of several new products across the construction industry including gantry cranes, boom cranes, various spreaders and below the hook attachments, and related products.•Utilized Mathcad to perform and digitize hand calculations including: general cross sections of plates or weldments, pins, welds, hardware, bearings, wear surfaces, ropes. Created Mathcad templates for calculations that were commonly repeated to streamline future work and reduce repetitive analytical work.•Performed Finite Element Analysis primarily through Ansys to evaluate stress, deflection, buckling, or other relevant concerns. Compared design to industry codes and resolved any insufficiently designed areas.•Provided feedback to Project Managers, Engineering Manager, or Designers on how to improve the design from a stress or weight optimization standpoint.•Performed Feasibility Studies alongside the engineering manager and costing specialists to provide accurate weldment section sizes for customer bids. Provided ground bearing pressure calculations and GVW projections for all new designs.•Assisted with training of newer employees on how calculations are ran on various components on the machine.

Assisted in performing multi-week ultrasonic leak detection surveys at large customer sites along side experts within Atlas Copco. This consisted of finding leaks using an ultrasonic leak detector, tagging them, and recording them in a database. The estimated CFM was calculated for each leak so that the customer knew which leak was costing them the most money.
