Utility Conflict Coordinator
CurrentUtility issues are widely recognized as one of the top reasons for project delays. Utility coordination involves systematically identifying and resolving utility conflicts as part of the project coordination process. Conflicts are frequently the result of inaccurate, incomplete information about existing utilities, ineffective coordination between government agencies, other organizations, and a lack of understanding of each other's processes. Effective utility coordination throughout the project development process is to facilitate the implementation of practices to minimize project risk, improve project delays by identifying and resolving utility conflicts, resulting in improved design plans and fewer unnecessary utility relocations, and emphasizing the importance of utility investigations in the project coordination prosses. Duties include: Coordinating and performing technical work related to identifying existing utility locations, adjustments, relocations, and or new installations that may be needed in conjunction with capital improvement projects, transportation projects or new land development.Overseeing multiple utility coordination projects and coordinate with utility agency owners, State and local government design teams on the locations and potential impacts on utilities.Coordinate and track first and second utility submittals and responses.Review Design plans and Prepare utility conflict analysis. Review Utility Work Plans and Designs for approval. Prepare and review schedules, prior rights determinations, and agreements for relocation.Ensure FDOT requirements for Utility Certification are met.Facilitate meetings involving utility specific activities.Utility Coordination is the effective judicious application of avoiding, minimizing, and mitigating errors to provide a more favorable outcome for all parties involved.
