Writing and researching is a passion for me. What distinguishes my style and approach to journalism is that I don’t go with the flow. I rarely rely on other journalists’ information or take on a subject without researching it myself. Fortunately, it doesn’t take all that long to go that extra mile. This approach serves me well in my feature writing as I not only develop a clear understanding of the subject I’m tackling, but it opens up new possibilities for articles, as well. An added bonus is meeting fascinating people along the way from all walks of life. I value my interviewees’ willingness to share their thoughts and, at times, open up their hearts to me. Capturing their spirit is a privilege I cherish. It connects me to feelings and insights that are beyond my own. I also ghostwrite books, which carry its challenges. How do I integrate my voice with the authors', bearing in mind that my clients' perceptions and points of view must always trump my own especially because, as a writer, I'm pulled towards self-expression and communication all the time? A job well done carries exceptional rewards. There is little greater satisfaction than having my client read back your words and say, this is how I think and feel. You nailed it!Many subjects fascinate me. Be they politics, psychology, parapsychology, literature, medicine, quantum physics, and literary profiles, and I write about many of them. I especially enjoy making Torah my own by uncovering the text’s secrets hidden within its words, sentences, and structures. I was privileged to study Torah online with Rabbi David Fohrman for many years, who is a master at uncovering the Torah's underlying meanings. There's nothing more thrilling for me than gaining insight into the human condition through Torah, sharing this insight with others and having them share their insights with me. .

Managing EditorCanadian Institute For Jewish Research Feb 2008 - PresentThe CIJR is an academic think-tank that specializes in Middle Eastern politics. I am the editor of the Israzine, a biweekly web magazine put out by the CIJR. Access to the Israzine is either through the CIJR homepage or through its Daily Briefing that goes out internationally. Together with my co-editor Nathan Elberg, I recently compiled a book of original essays by prominent aboriginal and nonaboriginal scholars, activists and laypeople entitled Zionism, an Indigenous Struggle: Aboriginal Americans and the Jewish State, soon to be published. This project gave me the opportunity to interview and meet, mainly through their contributions, brilliant men, and women who walk two roads – aboriginal and Jewish. Talk about challenges.

Interior DesignerSelf-Employed 1989 - PresentWearing my other hat as an interior decorator and designer, I help clients spruce up their homes that include choosing colors for the walls; window treatments; accessorizing, redesigning bathrooms and kitchens and all kinds of furniture, primarily helping them show off their space to advantage. Our home is a reflection of our personality, and where we find comfort, peace, and pride of ownership. Pursuing this other track allows me to tap the artistic part of myself; as well as helps me build new relationships with clients and professionals who work in the field. At times, clients and suppliers become close personal friends. -
