Reporting directly to the global CIO, specifically to drive quality and value from the outsourced solution partners of a large global Oracle P6/BPM implementation integrated with SAP; providing technical design reviews of technical components of the solution for quality and alignment with Enterprise strategies. The role involved the re-prioritisation of delivery activities to deliver environments, configurations and custom code to ensure the planned go live dates were reached. Two major delivery partners and a vendor were involved in building the solution, requiring design alignment and adjudication on technical issues. A core responsibility was to manage performance testing activities with the three suppliers, driving the activities to analyse and correct issues in real-time.The solution is complex and innovative requiring significant middleware development to integrate Primavera with SAP. Leading to challenges set against an aggressive deployment plan to achieve the targeted benefits of $3.6m per month. The solution runs in part Private Cloud and part Public Cloud environments.

The objective of this engagement was to “ground in reality” a high-level directional initiative from McKinsey. Working closely with a Business Architect, the core directional facets were aligned with both in-house business aspirations and market opportunities. This was expanded to a high-level technical solution to form the core of a transformation programme proposal for the Group board. A core component of the strategy was the Group’s approach to health monitoring with smart devices within their Gym portfolio. To support this, detailed analysis on a candidate health-score application was performed and recommendations made to the Group Board.
The customer was about to initiate a multi-million pound Oracle E-BS upgrade project. Initially, the role required a review of the SaaS vs. PaaS vs. in-house hosting of the solution. This led to a request to develop and implementation the architecture and technical strategy processes for the Global organisation. The initial focus was to address the company's inefficient and insecure systems integration between various ERP systems (mainly Oracle E-BS) with a strategy and high level solution model. These problem were further addressed by acting as technical authority on all the integration projects. The Organisation’s technical solution capability was disparate, uncoordinated and federated, this was orchestrated to become coordinated and collegiate. There was a lack of formal specification for the infrastructure design and vendor management, this was addressed by example and developing policy. The overall technical delivery quality was address through new technical governance processes and acted by acting as design authority for the UK, France and RoI businesses.
