I am Hubert "Mack" Hembree and I am very proud to be the Founder and Owner of Gems N Loans Pawn Shops. I opened my first location in Oceanside, CA back in 1993. Now we have four locations all over Southern California and we are still growing. Prior to becoming a pawnbroker, I was a manager at one of the original Toyota dealerships, Crown Toyota, and was involved in its expansion, which later became a multi-million dollar Toyota and Lexus dealership.From 1983 to 1993 I served on the Board of Directors of Orange Coast Title, which expanded during that period from a small company, serving only Southern California, to serving several western states. During this time I was one of the pioneers of Century-21 Real Estate, owning six large offices with over 500 employees.However, the most fun and interesting thing I have ever done is being in the pawn business. I don't think I will ever retire.
