Tom is a seasoned corporate/commercial solicitor with considerable international and financial services experience, predominantly as a partner in international law firms in the City of London. His experience includes being Head of Legal Department at the London Stock Exchange at a time when it was the UK Listing Authority and carried out much of the regulatory function which is now administered by the FCA – he often worked with the Insider Dealing Group and was involved in high profile investigatory work and led a project rewriting the Listing Rules. Prior to that he was Head of Legal Department at 3i plc which, during his tenure, was under the effective control of the Bank of England and grew to serve about 80% of the UK VC/PE business in its targeted market across its 28 UK offices. For many years he was a partner in Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP a law firm headquartered in New York with 14 offices in 10 jurisdictions, where he often acted for government entities around the world. As well as having a law degree and an MBA Tom has a qualification as a Certified Hedge Fund Professional. He has served as a member of several law committees and has authored or co-authored several law books mainly on financial services.

Am particularly interested in discussions on how to accelerate the coming revolution in the asset management industry. For instance how to solve the obvious chicken and egg problem re the tokenisation of company shares which could lead to a multiplicity of possible benefits such as lowering costs and communicating better with investors.
