About Mackenzie Delane Myrick

My years spent cultivating cherished spaces has garnered a special appreciation for nature and beauty, from my Texas hometown, to the Big Apple, and now the island of Maui. I currently work for Hawaii Farm Project, where I help to manage their businesses in ecotourism and sustainable agriculture. Before joining Hawaii Farm Project as a manager, I completed a temporary Field Assistant position with Mauna Kahalawai Watershed Partnership, where I gained invaluable experience in conservation, as well as memories to last a lifetime. My undergraduate education in sustainability and natural resource management, and internships in land maintenance, led me to a Horticulturist position for a talented landscaping firm in NYC where I led a crew of gardeners in maintaining ornamental, urban gardens, with specialization in rooftop and penthouse outdoor spaces. Prior to completion of my bachelor’s degree, I accumulated 7+ years of professional experience, in hospitality, retail, and food & beverage— with titles varying from banquet bartender to retail sales diva, and social media manager.     • During the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown of businesses, I stepped up to assist the owner of Sarah's on the Square with amplifying their voice, engaging their customer base/audience, and positively impacting our community. • I assisted in applying for multiple grants for Sarah’s to keep the business afloat during the pandemic shutdown. • We crowd sourced over $3,000 to be donated to our local VISTO (Volunteers in Service to Others) organization, a volunteer-led food pantry who needed these funds during such a critical time. • I personally assisted with the creation of and managed the implementation of the restaurant’s online order processing system. Working with both developers and the waitstaff to ensure all needs were met, and the process was streamlined. • I designed, wrote, published, and shared numerous social media posts, which kept our customer base updated and involved throughout the restaurant’s shut-down and re-opening. This includes but is not limited to: Closure/Opening announcements, Daily Specials, Family-Style Meal Availability, Updates regarding our Curbside Delivery Service, Mother’s Day Specials, and much more. • I designed and ordered stickers and packaging materials which would improve the Sarah’s brand/merchandising. • I led the creation of a seating chart, reservation sheet and specialized menu (along with social media content) for the Mother’s Day dine-in function, which we were only able to hold at 50% of our restaurant’s seating capacity. We had a spectacular event! • I currently work remotely for the business, managing their online presence.
