About Mackenzie Isaac
I am a recent graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where I majored in Sociology and minored in Latino Studies and Data Science. As an AmeriCorps Public Ally, I now have the privilege of completing a term of service with Health by Design, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit committed to supporting communities in their development of residential spaces, public spaces, and transportation infrastructures that promote healthy living and neighborhood unity. My greatest aspiration is to develop a community health education model that is more culturally competent, narrative-driven, and widely accessible. Much of my research has focused on the ways that built and social environments (re)produce health inequities in predominantly black and brown communities.
