Mackenzie Hatcher, M.Ed. Email and Phone Number
Unlike the stories I've heard from countless others, my journey into the field of higher education was not inspired by a student affairs professional who aided me throughout my undergraduate career. It started, in part, due to a promise I made to myself. Despite reaching out to resources offered at the institution, I did not receive the level of support that I needed. Several semesters of being misadvised led to the loss of a scholarship and delayed graduation. My poor experiences in undergrad led me into the field of student affairs; I left undergrad vowing that I would do what I could to prevent others from following suit in my series of unfortunate events.Somehow along the way that vow turned into a Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. It turned into a journey that would redeem my experience (and renew my faith) in higher education. It turned into something that grew my passion for education and helping others. Through my educational experiences and my exposure to working in higher education, I have developed special interests in accessibility/Universal Design, transfer student success, and veteran student success.
