In this job I get to work with different types of animals with different temperaments and level of care received. I must also dispense medication, stay up to date on required information on prescription labels, and explain medication to owners. I must also work with unpredictable animals that may be in pain while their owners may or may not be helpful to the overall situation. I must also be compassionate for those who come to us to say goodbye to their loved ones or receive bad news. Another aspect of this job is running lab work, blood tests, parasite tests, and other informative tests to help determine cause of any issues. Although portions of this job can be trying, overall it is very rewarding to be able to help animals who could otherwise not help themselves.

I help schedule appoints, take payments, go over aftercare with piercings/tattoos, and handle ordering and questions that clients may have. Due to the environment, it is necessary for me to be informative, talkative, compassionate, but also stern and straightforward. I am responsible for knowing and following current laws on age requirements and sanitation. In this job I am able to interact with all types of people from all walks of life and help them to find and receive something memorable.
