The Coalition for Compassion and Justice is an anti-poverty agency in Prescott AZ. There are two program efforts run by this position. A Home Repair program, and a transitional housing effort called Second Chance Housing. Home Repair is primarily a volunteer driven effort. It is considered a legacy program at CCJ, because it was the first program offered by CCJ 16 years ago. We connect qualified clients in need with a pool of 30+ volunteers of various skill and participation levels, with a small materials budget dedicated to making quality of life improvements. These repairs include roof patching or coating, heating and cooling, minor electrical or plumbing repairs, building ramps and repairing porches, subfloors patching, or installing grab bars.The Home Repair Program also has a CDBG grant affiliated program, which allows us to take more intensive repairs on within city limits. This program is run in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, and the City of Prescott's Community Development division. This is more of a typical grant driven home repair program, with attendant HUD requirements for procurement and documentation. This program primarily deals with roof replacement and major appliance replacement.The other program area this position deals with is a new program called Second Chance Housing. Our organization began receiving donated single wide manufactured homes, travel trailers, and Class C recreational vehicles. Having a wide base of client need from other programs we operate, we paired people in housing distress with he opportunity to get back on their feet with below market rents. Often these donated vehicles and homes are in need of significant repairs. This position coordinates the repair and ongoing maintenance of those units, and provides a client interface with the organization.Keywords: volunteer community organization, client services, grant recipient administration, construction, maintenance and related facilities repair..
