I love numbers and figuring out challenging problems. Being a type "A" personality, I have a strong preference for organization and thoroughly enjoy crossing items off a list.I originally grew up in a small town in Iowa called Melcher-Dallas, and when I went through high school, I excelled in math. I moved on and am currently at college at Northwest Missouri State, majoring in public accounting.You might be asking why did you chose to go into accounting. Well, that is pretty simple. I went in with a business management major, took my first accounting class, and fell in love with it. Some might say that accounting is boring, but I believe there are always unique challenges. I find this fun and look forward to the changing environment every day.I have interned as a premium auditor in the insurance industry. This gave me real-world experience and showed me a different side of what accounting is. I have also worked in a retail environment at a local hardware store where I interacted with customers daily. I worked here during COVID-19 and the supply chain issues taught me how to be adaptable. Lastly, I grew up on a farm and showed 4-H, which is always challenging and changing. The skills I learned from showing are responsibility, reliability, and learning that it is okay to make mistakes.Through all these experiences, I have learned and gained an enormous amount of confidence and am ready to find my next challenging environment to thrive in.
