At Pro Hockey Life my responsibility is to give the customer the best service possible while looking for their hockey retail needs. I am responsible for cleaning, merchandising and knowing product knowledge for every item on the shelf. I am currently trained in three departments which shows my commitment to providing the complete experience for every customer that walks into the store. I have also been recognized numerous times by Management for my customer service, and work ethic. My French asset was useful for a few French speaking customers that entered the store.

My role at Peter Green Hall Children’s Centre changed after a few years of substituting. My role as an inclusion support teaching assist ensured that children with unique needs and challenges were able to participate and engage in daily activities. Primarily I worked with young children with physical disabilities that created challenges for their daily interactions. I worked closely with support teams from the IWK to ensure these children with unique needs followed their physio regiments as well as hearing and speech. My role was to communicate with teachers to develop ways to adapt their classrooms and learning environment to reflect the needs of all children. I also created daily routines for these children to benefit their learning as well as provided weekly to monthly reports for the IWK support team as well as the parents of the children to communicate their progress.

At Peter Green Hall Children’s Centre, I was responsible to fill roles of teachers in order to maintain their schedule and daily routine. My duties involved organizing rooms and disinfecting spaces for children to play in clean, safe environments, preparing lunches and snacks, being responsible for children on outings, making the health and safety of the children the top priority, and reporting daily routines and/or incident reports to parents. As a substitute teacher, I had the pleasure of working with various types of children; from those with autism to rare genetic disorders. I have also had the pleasure of working with IWK workers, physiotherapists, and hearing and speech therapists throughout the summer for these children. I have been recognized by families’ and co-workers’ numerous times for the care and love I have for each one of the children that walk through the door. I work well with children, and stay focused on maintaining a safe and happy environment for the children and their families.

At Dalhousie my role was to print and distribute student’s DalCard, (student ID cards), along with many other tasks in the office. I was often asked to organize information in excel or word documents and respond to service tickets online. I was trusted to keep all student information confidential and I had access to very personal information. Along with my other job, I had to overcome difficult situations with the students or faculty in relation to customer service. I often had to cope with lines and multiple people waiting for my assistance, I did this by remaining calm and working efficiently.
