Initially the Scrum Master for three advanced analytics teams composed of data scientists and data engineers. Also lead the Scrum implementation for two new analytics teams that dealt specifically with the impact of the Coronavirus. Teams created data products ranging from dashboards in Tableau, to web apps that allowed users to consume forecasts that drove planning efforts across the organization.-Helped new teams define their backlogs, guided the creation of team processes, and coached teams on Scrum practices. These actions lead to greater coordination, organization, and productivity within, and across, the teams.-Took over the organizing and facilitating of Scrum Master community of practice meetings.Meetings helped share knowledge and practices across 30 or so other Scrum Masters-Guided the teams to use historical sprint data to help perform quarterly planning. This resulted in setting better expectations with users, and a more consistent development pace for the team.

Led the implementation of Scrum for a project with a very aggressive deadline. The purpose of the project was to develop a new cloud based financial product built with Azure Service Fabric and Microsoft Dynamics. The three teams for this project were composed of new hires and were dispersed in two different locations.-Guided the teams to use the Nexus scaling framework in order to align development efforts and help management understand the plan, and results, for each sprint.-Created an information radiator that effectively distilled the current state of project. The radiator reduced confusion throughout the organization and help generate better planning conversations.

I served as the Scrum Master for two web development teams each having their own off-shore development team. Major accomplishments during my time at Providence include helping guide the teams during a period without a Product Owner and assisting the adoption of the SAFe framework by teaching the teams about PI Planning and leading the teams in their planning sessions.

Initially assigned as the Scrum Master to two mobile development teams for the Nike Run Club app, and eventually served as the Scrum Master for the corresponding platform team to assist the completion of a major project. Mobile teams built app for both Android and iOS devices. -Created a specialized JIRA board to track work scheduled for releases and also documented high-level release plan in team area. Focused attention on these artifacts during stand up to help coordinate work across the team. This resulted in a dramatic decrease in coordination for release planning and reduced confusion throughout the teams.-Facilitated the introduction of using story points to estimate the capacity of the team. This helped the development teams understand how much work to take on for each sprint and also helped product managers create a more accurate release roadmap.

I acted as a Scrum Master for my team while still performing BA work. Eventually I was assigned to another team to act as their Scrum Master/BA. My activities as a Scrum Master centered around making the team's development process more visible, owning and running all of the Scrum ceremonies, and coaching the teams to continuously improve. Some notable activities include:-Coached product owner on release planning and framing requirements in terms of value delivered to users. -Coached development team on importance of creating test cases before starting development. -Resolved team conflicts by facilitating group discussions and having one-on-one discussions with the involved parties. -Lead adoption of Workfront, a system for tracking development work, within the development team. Demonstrated how to use the system in alignment with Scrum practices.

I worked to maintain and enhance LaserPro, a software product designed to streamline the lending process for banks and credit unions. The teams that I worked with employed practices from various Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Lean, and XP. My role on the team was to provide business and systems analysis, everything from defining business use cases to creating data maps for legacy systems.

I taught a terminal Calculus class directed at business/pharmacy/architect students. The class was designed to expose these students to the concepts of Calculus while avoiding advanced topics that are necessary to go on in higher level mathematics. At any given point I was responsible for two classes of around 30 students each. My responsibilities included lecturing, grading, and classroom management. I consistently received praise for being able to explain technical ideas in an easily understandable manner. This experience honed my skills of communicating with diverse groups of people, motivating others to accomplish their goals, and providing empathy while still enforcing boundaries.

The Leadership Development Team strove to motivate, challenge, and empower students, faculty, and members of the community to their full leadership ability, through teamwork, vision, goals, communication, ethics, and desire. As the chair of the team my responsibilities included organizing and running weekly meetings, coordinating events with school administrators, assigning tasks to other team members, leading team building exercises, and guiding group discussions.

Some other duties I was tasked with included:(1) Supervision of 3-5 subordinates at a time.(2) Researching and procuring information technology equipment.(3) Ensuring personal kept up do date on administrative requirements as set by the Marine Corps.(4) Designing and executing work sections physical training program.(5) Stand watch over enlisted barracks. Where I enforced regulations and provided security.
