At Vermont Irrigation I worked on the installation of new and upkeep of existing underground automatic irrigation systems on lawns, gardens and commercial sites. These systems numbered over 1500 primarily in northern Vermont, as well as in parts of upstate New York, New Hampshire and Maine.As the primary Service Technician I focused on addressing service calls from our customers. I worked solo or lead crews in general maintenance and small to medium renovations of existing irrigation systems.Service calls ranged from minor replacements, updating irrigation systems to match new landscaping or housing renovations, and problem solving mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues.I frequently worked directly with customers to on the instruction of the use of their irrigation system, finding solutions to issues they brought up, and discussing and planning for changes or additions to their system that they desired.

In this position, managed the ski and snowboard gear rental operations of a high end Rental/Retail store at a large ski resort. Oversaw the training of rental technicians, developed and implemented new practices and procedures, and managed day-to-day operations of the rental shop.

I Worked as a farm hand alongside others and alone, on all tasks relating to small scale organic farming including planting, care and harvesting of cropsAs Field Manager, I oversaw other workers and volunteers, as well as managing my own projects around the farm, working directly with the Farm Manager and Owner to ensure responsibilities were taken care of in a timely and efficient manner. As CSA manager I communicated with our members weekly to plan pickup times, share produce selection, and answer questions. I was responsible for the setup and running of the weekly CSA and handled additional transactions.

I worked at a local sugar shack to make maple syrup, and participated in all steps of creating maple syrup including collecting, boiling, bottling and selling.Worked at open houses and taught visiting groups ages 5-18 about the origins and current practices of maple sugaring.

As a Harvester and the Head Harvester, I was responsible for harvesting crops daily and instructed and supervised other harvesters.As a farm hand, I worked alongside other staff on various farm tasks including planting, plant maintenance and prep for market and CSA.

Worked in the sociology department along with a professor and several students researching farmers' markets in the US, specifically New England. Researched where farmers' markets tended to be found, and what those markets sold.

Responsibilities included pest control, watering, leading tours and educational groups for college, high school, and younger students, and being on call in case of emergency

Managed school community garden, got farm involved in a local farmers market, expanded farm to over twice its size and hosted summer camp programs on the farm

I Worked as a farm hand to keep the farm operational during a difficult transitional season and additionally managed volunteers who visited

During the summer of 2015 I drove around the country stopping to work on five farms. I was able to stay at each farm for 10-30 days. This experience provided me a chance to explore the agricultural world and lifestyle. It has helped me get a better idea of what I am interested in pursuing agriculturally.

As a camp counselor, I lead a group of children on various activities throughout the day. These included:- Hiking- Swimming- Team Building Exercises- Primitive Skills Development (fire building, shelter building, tracking, plant identification, etc.)

As a Madrich (teaching assistant), I helped the teacher lead classes at Hebrew School. We taught Jewish history, biblical stories, Jewish culture, Hebrew, and social justice.
