About Mac Hamilton (She/Hers)

I hold a B.A. in Government and African Studies from Smith College, and an International Master’s in Security, Intelligence, and Strategic Studies from the University of Glasgow, Dublin City University, and Charles University, where my research focused on UN and African Union approaches to peace consolidation. Prior to directing advocacy at Women’s Action for New Directions, I worked in the field of genocide and mass atrocity prevention for nearly ten years in roles ranging from community organizer to campaign development to strategic planning and project implementation. I am passionate about reframing U.S. foreign policy away from militarism and towards justice-focused and cooperative approaches that meet human and environmental needs.
