About Mackenzie Laughlin
I am Mackenzie Laughlin from Johnston, Iowa. I am in my 3rd year in the occupational therapy program at Drake University. I am involved in many activities that showcase all of my skills. I’ve known that I have wanted to be an occupational therapist since high school which makes me very dedicated to this profession. I have had many injuries throughout my running career, three of which have required major surgery. I’ve learned to become very resilient and have also been in the shoes of needing an occupational therapist myself. Knowing what it is like to be the client can help me be more personal with the clients I work with. I am currently training for my second marathon now, have two jobs, and am an assistant high school girls cross country coach. I can balance all of these activities and still be a student. I am interested in opportunities within occupational therapy around the Des Moines area.
