Taught Seed to Supper class, educated adults about the fundamentals of gardening. Utilized proper maintenance techniques for fruit-bearing trees and shrubs, and vegetable gardening through hands on experience. Skills developed included, but are not limited to crop planning, disease management, fertilizing, harvesting, pest control, pruning, seeding, transplanting, watering, and weeding.

Volunteered at Eastside and Westside Learning Gardens. Learned logistics regarding how to maintain learning garden by engaging in hands-on experience. Taught adults basic gardening skills as Seed to Supper Garden Educator. Was Garden Educator at Rachel Carson Environmental Middle School.

Independent contractor. Assisted Weston Miller, OSU Extension Service Community and Urban Horticulturist. Harvested, pruned fruit trees and bushes, and weeded.

All tasks a-z related to organic farming, including, but not limited to cover cropping, crop planning, harvesting, irrigation, seeding, thinning, transplanting, trellising, watering and weeding.

Cared for flowers, bushes and trees. Built raised beds, installed drip irrigation systems, planted, maintained and harvested vegetables, as well as pruned fruit trees. Responsible for maintaining ten residential lots, prior to graduate school.

Participated in all aspects of running a small-scale production farm. Schoolyard Farms grows over 40 different annual and perennial fruits and vegetables. The produce is grown for a 30-member CSA, Head Start, local grocers and the Candy Lane Elementary school cafeteria.
