Miami Television News is Miami University's only student-run newscast. It is aired on a local television channel, MUTV, and on-campus. As president, I worked to enhance the organization's structure to increase long term sustainability and connection with the student population. To do this, I led the organization through weekly meetings and bi-weekly newscasts, edited/produced the newscasts and news packages and trained all members through the process of creating a newscast. I also generated story ideas and delegated those ideas to members, and I held bi-weekly office hours to assist members with their responsibilities. In this role, I have had the opportunity to interview Ice-T, Rainn Wilson, Jodie Sweetin, Daniel Handler (also known as Lemony Snicket) and Wil Haygood, among others.

In this position, I contributed to the production of university marketing that targets prospective students. My other responsibilities included developing marketing strategies for campus clients, writing persuasively for targeted audiences and creating profiles about current students to convey the diverse interests and backgrounds of those who attend Miami University. I also contributed to Miami social media content.

I was trained at the B.E.S.T. Library reference desk to use various databases and locate specific books and articles based upon the needs of Miami students and faculty. As a student supervisor, I was also responsible for managing the library and student aides in the evenings.

I wrote for the Miami Student all throughout my undergraduate career. I worked with data in my stories and covered a wide variety of topics, including student grief and budget problems at the university. One of my articles, "What they left behind: Life after loss," was a finalist in the Society of Professional Journalists 2017 Mark of Excellence Awards in the Large Feature Writing category.

As a communications intern, I was assigned multiple departments within Miami University's College of Arts and Science. Throughout the year, I communicated with the different departments to cover their events via news articles that were posted on Miami websites.

During my time as president of the Miami University chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, I planned a journalism panel called "Women & Writing: Finding Your Voice in a #MeToo World," with the collaboration of two advisors and one other student. This event was a day-long workshop intended to connect Miami University students to successful female journalists from across the country. It included a keynote presentation by Kate Fagan of ESPNw, a Q&A panel and intimate breakout sessions where small groups could discuss articles with each journalist. I was one of two students who proposed and organized this event. My responsibilities included connecting with four journalists to present at the panel and share their work with students, fundraising to support the $12,000 event and leading the Q&A panel and breakout sessions.

During my time with "New Day Cleveland," I served as a producer and floor director. My responsibilities included scheduling shoots and ensuring smooth transitions between segments. I independently scheduled and produced three packages to promote local businesses, and I contributed to the online video and social media platforms.

As the data and sales manager, I handled all local marketing and promotions, which included finding advertising partners within the community. I was responsible for the collection, input and calculation of all data pertaining to Rinky Dink and its attractions. In addition to my responsibilities as a manager, I scheduled and planned events and was the winner of bi-weekly employee sales contest on 13 occasions.
