After working for the Halton Hills Blue Fins and the Town of Halton Hills for over four years, coaching and teaching a wide skill variety of competitive and non competitive swimmers (6 months-50 years old), I decided to take on the challenge of private swimming lessons during the summer of 2019. I began by posting an ad on Facebook that highlighted my experience, and as I met and worked with more families, I gained business from word of mouth. Each lesson is specifically designed for the individual swimmer being taught at the time, with the goals they/ their parents had set out kept in mind at all times in order to achieve the desired outcome. Through this work experience, I have been able to gain experience in marketing and entrepreneurship along with skills like scheduling, communication, and time management through both the booking process and actual teaching.

While working with the Halton Hills Blue Fins, I had the privilege of helping athletes of all levels develop their swimming skills and achieve their personal bests. I focused on fostering a positive, supportive environment that encouraged growth, discipline, and a love for swimming. Working alongside the head coach, I contributed to the team in various ways, with a few examples being leading warmups and dryland training sessions, making technique corrections and attending swim meets.
