Over the course if my adult life I have always lived and worked by a few basic rules. First, work doing what you enjoy. Second, work for places that give back or have a cause in the community. And third, regardless of your position, title, or station always be willing to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty by being willing and able to work at any level whether it be scrubbing the bathroom or filing the end of year financial report. When all three of these align, you realize you aren't doing a job, you are contributing to the overall success of whatever goals need to be accomplished. Personally, I also like to give back to my community as well whenever I have the time and in whatever means I can. I have been fortunate to serve on the board of directors for a 501(C)(3) for 5 years in which time I actively participated in planning and executing more than 8 nationally attended fund raising events raising money for organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Hospice of the Comforter, Hope&Help Foundation, The Suicide Hotline, Serenity House, and many more.I always seem to stay busy in both my work and personal life and when it seems that there isn't enough time in the day to do it all, you realize how quickly you switch into overdrive and force yourself to get the job done and make the time.
