Since its inception 50 years ago, Ski Racing has been the industry-leading English language source for alpine ski racing news. As a staff writer, I covered the Women's World Cup beat, both remotely and on the ground. In addition to writing news and feature stories, I contributed my photo and video skills to various sponsored content projects for clients such as U.S. Ski and Snowboard, Volkl/Marker/Dalbello, and POC.

Audi Fis World Cup Circuit

Provide on the ground coverage of World Cup races across North America and Europe for NBC Sports through the means of multimedia. Conduct on-camera interviews with Olympic athletes for use in NBC Sport's TV show, as well as B-roll of venues and behind the scenes of the FIS Alpine World Cup Tour. Act as my own camera-woman, interviewer, and producer, traveling as a one-woman band from country to country.Below are samples of coverage and contributions made on both the men's and women's circuit.

Chasing Coral, created by Exposure Labs, is an Emmy-award-winning Netflix Original documentary that aims to effectively communicate the effect that climate change has on our oceans through the first-ever time-lapse documentation of coral bleaching. The Impact team aims to use the film as a communication tool that inspires audiences to take action and become leaders in the fight against climate change.As an intern, I assist the Impact team with digital storytelling via social media, blogs, and web content to support our online community. In addition, I assist with asset management of online materials, press tracking, and evaluating span and depth of impact.

I produced, photographed, and wrote an editorial feature on female field researchers in Southcentral Alaska that become the focus of my undergraduate Honors thesis, 'Women of Science'. My story, titled, "Women of Science", follows the women on various field surveys, and discusses how their dedication to understanding and protecting the outdoors through scientific research in the Alaskan Wilderness contributes to changing the stereotype of how society views women in STEM.

Sri Lanka

Steeped in Sri Lanka tells the stories of two villages on the island of the southeast coast of India, documenting the experience of the people and the 18 students who spent their winter breaks there. As a part of the production/post-production team, I helped to create the University of Oregon's School of Journalism first ever interactive exhibit and online experience, with a team of talented students and advisers. I was in charge of photography and assisted with visual design, and contributed photographs I had taken myself.

Contributed work to the staff photo page, as well a story focused on a native community in Oregon fighting to regain ownership of ancestral land and burial grounds.

Managed a $10,000 budget to coordinate all logistics required for the operation of the Alpine Ski Team. Duties include:- Organize travel with Oregon Motor Pool.- Schedule training facilities and coach practices.- Daily communication between the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Assoc., University of Oregon Club Sports, NWCSC, and UO Alpine athletes.- Assist athletes daily with registration and overall needs.- Attend monthly Coordinator meetings conducted by the UO Club Sports

Rethymno, Greece

Archelon's mission as an organization is to monitor and protect the habitat and nesting beaches of the Loggerhead sea turtle in the Aegean Sea. As a volunteer, I helped execute this mission through daily beach surveys, public excavations/releases, and public awareness outreach. For 8 weeks, I lived on a campsite a mile off the beach with 30 other volunteers from all over the world. Beach surveys included finding the tracks of the nesting females, and in turn finding the nest, protecting and covering the eggs and watching over them until they hatched. Once hatched, we created shading alleys to ensure that each hatchling at a chance to make it to the sea. Only 1 in 1,000 hatchlings will survive to adulthood, so the survival of each was the of the utmost importance to ensure the longevity of the species in general.I led presentations for a few weeks, for the People to People Leadership program, as I was one of two Americans on camp. Each day I would lead around 30 American middle school/high school students through a presentation about the organization and the importance of protect the endangered species, as well as service projects and camp tours. From there I began giving presentations to the international audiences at hotels.
