He has managed several of the world’s most prominent and successful IP licensing programs.He founded and managed Alliacense, a full-service, industry-leading, IP management and licensing company in the Silicon Valley, where he led specialized teams of engineers, business analysts, business development executives, and legal professionals. He has negotiated the closure of hundreds of IP-centric commercial transactions across a spectrum of industries including consumer electronics, artificial intelligence, semiconductor design & packaging, biotech, medical devices, robotics, computer vision, automotive, aerospace, heavy industrial machines, gaming, TV and film production and broadcasting, 3D graphics, hardware-software ecosystems, software-as-a-service, and biometric security. He has led IP valuation and damages analysis efforts, reverse engineering efforts, and managed multi-defendant cases in the federal courts and at the International Trade Commission. At Dolby Laboratories, he led IP licensing strategy and strategic business development initiatives, including the documentation of licensing pools, standard body relationships and M&A efforts. Under his direction, Dolby prevailed as the dominant digital audio codec format.Mac serves as Senior Counsel with the law firm of Lloyd & Mousilli counseling technology companies in commercial, technology and IP transactions; and Of Counsel with the law firm of SRD Legal Group counseling finance, insurance, and investment companies in transacting with their vendor communities.Mac also leads Planay LLC, a boutique law firm whose current clients are cleaning the world’s water supply, producing the most immersive audio soundtracks, designing and building beautiful living and work spaces, and using artificial intelligence to improve the connections between employers and talent.
