I have been fortunate to work in management positions for companies of different industries, including software licensing; branding & distribution of CPG snack foods; textile & boat manufacturing; and seafood processing. I have learned that regardless of industry, companies face similar issues, good or bad, and that continual learning and good communication is paramount to operating a successful business. Additionally, I have learned the following about myself:- I am entrepreneurial spirited and enjoy strategic planning and analysis.- I focus on details to make good decisions.- I am passionate about learning and striving for improvement.- I believe success comes from smart work, which is not always hard work.- I have the aptitude to work independently or within a group setting.- I can lead, support, encourage, and develop individuals and teams.- I practice and promote “good stage presence” in personal and business interactions.- I enjoy success from personal effort but more so from team effort.Besides formal education, my travel experiences (several Canadian provinces, Sint Marteen, Saint Barthelemy (Barts), South Africa, Scotland, The Netherlands, Spain, and twenty states of the USA) have benefited my professional experiences as I believe traveling aids one to:- Develop well-roundedness as unfamiliar situations can challenge one in new ways to enhance personal qualities, communication, and confidence.- Improves planning as several things need to be addressed prior to traveling, including accommodation & travel arrangements; belongings to pack; vaccinations; bills; etc.- Enhances budgeting skills as traveling is costly and requires discipline in setting and attaining budgeting goals to afford travel and the related unexpected expenses that always arise.- Teaches crisis management as traveling is rarely a smooth experience, and a crisis can unexpectedly arise (missed flight; lost luggage; stolen valuables; etc.) requiring immediate attention which often results in personal growth and improved decision-making.- Promotes adaptation to change as traveling usually involves constant change (weather, culture, language, etc.), so one starts to expect the unexpected and develops an ability to adapt to change.I enjoy meeting new people and hearing new perspectives and discussions about a variety of topics, including emerging technology, industries, products, trends, opportunities, and travel experiences & recommendations…so do not hesitate to contact me to discuss such things.
