I address a range of mental health disorders, from simple stress to schizophrenia. As a Utilization Reviewer it is my goal to review medical records of patients who are under treatment for emotional or mental illness to ensure proper utilization of treatment resources; review patient records for proper case documentation, and medical necessity of treatment in relation to federal, state and county regulations; assess continuing treatment plans; advocate for required patient treatment with medical providers. I possess a thorough knowledge of the psychological and social aspects and characteristics of emotional disturbances and mental illness. Also, the principles and methods of counseling and the accepted techniques for assessing psycho-social behavior. I possess a working knowledge of human behavior and development, and appropriate and available community resources. Also the problems, needs and attitudes of the emotionally ill and socially disturbed. I am knowledgable on the pharmacology of medications and psychotropic drug treatment and the methods and procedures of admissions, discharges and patient care in acute care psychiatric facilities.

Planned and implemented therapeutic activites for adults on 30 bed mental health unit including but not limited to fitness, coping skills, stress management, anger managment, leisure education, etc. Completed initial assessment and daily progress notes and developed individualized treatment plans. Attended team meetings with Doctors and treatment team weekly to report on patients progress.

In-home therapy and community integration with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities. Yearly assessments and progress notes completed. Family meetings with family members to report on clients progress and goals attained.
