Key Contributions• Developed the program that enabled the University to establish its first public school partnership with area school districts. As a result, over 300 middle school students have experienced Bridgewater State University's exclusive residential academic program which combines academics, mentoring and enrichment activities during a seven-week period in the summer. Supportive services are also provided to middle-schoolers to enhance their continued academic improvement initiatives. Due to the popularity and need of this summer enrichment program, additional schools and districts have been added to the Public School Outreach Project to further expand the positive outcomes of this university-school district collaboration throughout the Commonwealth.• Forged relationships with the BSU Aviation Department, the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary, and Civil Air Patrol to facilitate aerospace education and aviation cadet training for Roosevelt Middle School students in New Bedford, MA.* This unique summer intensive program boasts enrichment initiatives and activities that have positively impacted children through enhanced academic performance, engagement and improved confidence and social skills.
