Nancy MacPherson was the first Managing Director for Evaluation at The Rockefeller Foundation, where she was responsible for building the Foundation's central evaluation function.Prior to joining the Foundation in 2008, Nancy worked in Asia and Africa with international development organizations, the United Nations, and multilateral and bilateral agencies. She set-up and managed IUCN’s Program Evaluation, Performance Assessment, and Results-Based Management Systems. At IUCN, she also served as Special Advisor to the Director General. Throughout her career, Nancy has played key roles in establishing and nurturing of a number of global and regional development evaluation professional associations and networks, including the International Development Evaluation Association (IDEAS), and African Evaluation Association (AfrEA). Nancy was a member of the teaching faculty at the World Bank’s International Program for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET) from 2001-2011. In recognition of her substantial contributions to the public good, in 2015 Nancy received the American Evaluation Association's Enhancing the Public Good Award. Nancy holds a master’s degree from Carleton University and has pursued post-graduate studies at the University of British Columbia. She has lived and worked globally, including in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
