I began freelance work with HERO Sports (then known as BennettRank, since rebranded) in Spring 2015. I later accepted an offer to become a Senior Staff Writer.

Over the past decade, Currently, I'm doing FCS level college football work with STATS-Perform along with HERO Sports. I have provided writing, editing, podcasting and social media services for multiple national media entities of varying genres. I served as a lead content writer for BetMGM during its startup phase, the lead Group of Five college football editor/writer/podcaster for FanBuzz/Publishers Clearing House before PCH pulled out of the media/content industry, the lead college football recruiting writer for the SEC site Saturday Down South … and many more contracts, including magazine editing and long-form feature magazine writing with A.E. Engines. Some of these independent contracts were held concurrently.

Coordinating the Parade Magazine All-American teams. I became just the fourth PARADE All-American Team coordinator in the history of the iconic teams, dating back to the 1960s. I vetted candidates for the overall winner of the award, along with our teams. This was done through extensive travel, which overlapped with my other contracts. Many of these players are now in the NFL. WNBA and NBA. After a sale, the historic teams ceased to exist.

Responsible for college football and basketball recruiting coverage. I traveled to All-American games and contributed to The Sporting News' digital and print platforms. I also helped with coverage on site, anything from bowl game coverage to March Madness hoops to NASCAR and NFL.

We covered 20-plus varsity sports at 17 schools. I would say 25 percent of the job was writing, 75 percent somewhat managerial. When it came to the paper's primary pub, I coordinated the schedules for the prep writing staff and our freelancers, while also being a part of the hiring process for several of our positions.
