Hello,I'm Macy. I am working to obtain an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have played many sports through out my life. I am passionate about mental performance and mental health as I've experienced the highs and lows of sports. Some of my shining moments include but are limited to having a state record in shot put, winning awards and a state championship in boys high school ice hockey, as well as represented my country in Italy for the World Championships in roller hockey. My final years of ice hockey I played at Arizona State University. I was a forward for roller hockey and a goaltender for ice hockey. My love for the sport will always be found on the other side of a shot from the top of the blue line. Let's be real, from anywhere on the ice. I can't express the drive to give back to the athletic community that shaped me to be who I am. I have worked in two different demographics. My first experience was with adolescents ages 8-17 in a level one lock down unit facility. My second/current experience is with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) adults in foster care. Both experiences have been gifts of insight into culture, equity, intervention strategies, communication, advocacy, treatment planning, and PGOI development. I enjoy problem solving and systemic thinking. I have an incomparable willingness to learn as, I love to work through situations hands on and never fear asking questions. The more I know the more I can help individuals I work with.
