As a young girl at church camp, a counselor wrote me a letter describing what she’d witnessed in me that week. She characterized me as a “strong leader.” Her words have continually resonated with me over the past 13 years and have pushed me to places I never thought or dreamt of. As a competitive and driven employee at Structured Engineering Solutions, I use the knowledge I received as a business student at Tennessee Technological University, where I decided to concentrate on General and Human Resource Management. I now focus on cultivating a healthy and honorable work environment for each team member while creating policies and rhythms to allow sound workflow. My purpose is to gain wisdom and understanding from mentors and others who are willing to instruct while concurrently aiding those in need. When people have a higher calling, they desire to advocate for causes much larger than 40 hours a week and a paycheck. The career environment that is appealing supports growth as an employee, as well as a wholesome and virtuous person. Personal past job experiences have shown that through love and enduring patience with others in need, breakthroughs in almost any area are possible. This has been evident in educating and instructing my fellow classmates in the College of Business at Internship Seminars on the importance of professionalism in the workplace before, during, and after concluding an internship, as well as internships assisting teens in finding their God-given uniqueness in life.
