Nov.2021-Present: Organizer and Host of Western Modern and Contemporary ArtTalks Series (conducted in Mandarin), Vancouver, CanadaThe "Western Modern and Contemporary Art Talk Series" is a Non-profit series of events jointly planned and organized by Dr. Roger Libin Xiao, artist Geoffrey Caofei Feng and his wife Macy Li who are immigrants from China and now live in Vancouver.The purpose of this series of Art Panel Talks is to popularize knowledge about Western modern art and spread the creative ideas of Chinese-Canadian immigrant artists to mandarin speaking population in Greater Vancouver area. Each panel talk is lectured by an artist who chooses a topic. All topics are connected as much as possible and finally form a complete picture of Western modern art, covering different image art categories such as painting, sculpture, photography, and architecture. This series of Art Talks is conducted in Mandarin and held once a month and lasts for two hours each time. So far, 20 lectures have been successfully held and the 21st will be conducted on Sep.28, 2024 in Equinox Gallery. Most of the Chinese-Canadian immigrant artists participating in this series of activities have roots in the Greater Vancouver area and have contributed to enriching the diverse culture of the region. Their artistic works not only reflect the spirit of contemporary society, but also depict the style of the local environment, forming a comprehensive three dimensional picture. They have become one of the sources of information to record the local present, and are also a microcosm of the spirit of the local Chinese-Canadian community.
