About Omid Madadgar

I am a Research Fellow at Michigan State University with 15 years of experience in applied research and development in Molecular Biology, Toxicology, and Virology. My mission is to apply my expertise in these fields to advance the discovery and development of novel vaccines and therapies for infectious diseases and toxic agents. In my current role, I have contributed to several projects that have resulted in 14 conference papers and 5 peer-reviewed journal papers, including one in the prestigious Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. I have also presented my findings on the molecular mechanisms of DNA damage, oxidative stress, cytokine changes, and host immune responses induced by various pathogens and toxins. Additionally, I have collaborated with renowned researchers and healthcare providers to conduct preclinical research and evaluation studies, using a wide range of assay systems and analytical tools. As a strong leader and team player, I have managed multiple projects simultaneously, trained and supervised students, and optimized laboratory operations and procedures. My keen interest is to contribute to the improvement of global health and security through innovative and collaborative research.

The new vaccine showed a PD50 value of 10.05 compared to a PD50 value of 4.17 for the old vaccine. This vaccine is now used for vaccination against FMD in Iran.
