I am a Research Fellow at Michigan State University with 15 years of experience in applied research and development in Molecular Biology, Toxicology, and Virology. My mission is to apply my expertise in these fields to advance the discovery and development of novel vaccines and therapies for infectious diseases and toxic agents. In my current role, I have contributed to several projects that have resulted in 14 conference papers and 5 peer-reviewed journal papers, including one in the prestigious Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. I have also presented my findings on the molecular mechanisms of DNA damage, oxidative stress, cytokine changes, and host immune responses induced by various pathogens and toxins. Additionally, I have collaborated with renowned researchers and healthcare providers to conduct preclinical research and evaluation studies, using a wide range of assay systems and analytical tools. As a strong leader and team player, I have managed multiple projects simultaneously, trained and supervised students, and optimized laboratory operations and procedures. My keen interest is to contribute to the improvement of global health and security through innovative and collaborative research.

Research FellowUniversity Of California, San Francisco Jun 2017 - May 2018San Francisco, California, Us- Quantified the role of shock and kill strategy for termination of HIV latency by eliminating its pool in T cells accompanied with antiretroviral therapy using a herbal extract.- 30000 USD grant and a conference paper.- Quantified different Iranian herbs and some of their derivates, looking for the most promising herbal extract and derivative to activate the latent HIV activation with minimum toxicity. -
Principal Investigator, Joint Appointment Vaccine Development ResearchRazi Vaccine & Serum Research Institute 2011 - 2018Karaj, Alborz, Ir- Innovated an influenza HA2 DNA vaccine with Mx bio adjuvant using bioinformatic methods and quantified immune response in BALB/c mice using a prime-boost vaccination strategy.- 3 vaccine discovery, 5 peer-reviewed journal papers, 8 conference presentations, and papers.- Enhanced potency of FMD vaccine by inventing, and quantifying the potency, of a new oil-based adjuvant ISA 61 VG FMD vaccine. The new vaccine showed a PD50 value of 10.05 compared to a PD50 value of 4.17 for the old vaccine. This vaccine is now used for vaccination against FMD in Iran. -

Researcher/ Director Of Madadgar Virology LabUniversity Of Tehran 2009 - 2017Tehran, Tehran, Ir- Directed a team of five graduate and 15+ DVM students, investigating viral molecular epidemiology to detect circulating viral strains to improve the vaccines in use.- 68 peer-reviewed journal papers, 28 conference presentations, and papers, 70000 USD grants in total, graduating 5 Ph.D. and 16 DVM students as the first supervisor.- Enhanced the methods of treatment and control strategies by quantifying the prevalence of viral strains and their pathogenicity in animal viral complex infections in a team-up with veterinarians. - Innovated a gamma-irradiated avian influenza vaccine candidate and confirmed the high-quality inactive vaccine production method, and quantified the efficacy of the new vaccine.
