I was an actress for thirty years working in television, film, repertory theatre and the West End. I present radio, and I write short stories, poems and magazine articles. I am an author signed to Storm Publishing. I have written a series called, The Sisters of Wartime England. Set a WW2 the series tells the stories of four very different sisters, Bess, Margaret, Claire and Ena Dudley. To be continued... Foxden Acres is Bess Dudley's story. Bess is a teacher in London who, when the children are evacuated, returns to Foxden and with a team of land girls turns the acres into arable land. Applause, Margot Dudley's story is set in a London theatre where she works her way from usherette to leading lady. China Blue is Claire Dudley's code name. Claire is recruited by the SOE to work with the French Resistance. The youngest Dudley sister Ena makes discs and dials for Bletchley Park. Her work is stolen on the 9:45 (train) to Bletchley and she is accused of sabotage. The next 4 books are stand-alone sequels. Foxden Hotel is a murder mystery which brings the Dudley sisters together, Chasing Ghosts a psychological thriller, There is No Going Home and She Casts A Long Shadow are spy thrillers. Old Cases New Colours, published on March 25th 2021 is a Detective Thriller where, during a dangerous investigations, Ena is called into the Old Bailey as a witness for the prosecution in a murder case. I am currently writing a stand-alone sequel to Applause called, Christmas Applause. This month I am attending The Writers Holiday, which was at the University of Wales, Caerleon, and is now held at The Fishguard Bay Hotel. I am also going to the Writers' Summer School, at Swanwick for a couple of days. In August I shall crack on with book 5 in the Dudley Sisters Saga. The Foxden Hotel opens on New Year's Eve, 1948, ten years after the first novel,Foxden Acres. The novel brings the Dudley sisters and many of the characters in the other novels together to celebrate the opening of the hotel and the New Year. Someone from the sisters' wartime past gatecrashes the celebrations. The person is removed from the premises, which has disastrous consequences, culminating in a murder enquiry.
