I managed the environmental program for the Alberta Clipper Project (1078 km) in Western Canada ensuring compliance to environmental regulations across Canada. I was deeply involved in planning, construction and post construction monitoring for this complex project. My responsibilities included managing environmental inspection staff, environmental consultants, regulatory applications (including the environmental protection plan, post construction monitoring plan) and all regulatory permit applications. I saved five million dollars on the project due to implementing innovative regulatory strategies on the project. -

In this role, I also prepared Environmental Protection Plans (EPPs), completed and submitted permitting applications and managed environmental consultants ensuring environmental compliance to provincial and federal regulatory requirements. I worked with within multi-disciplinary teams such as construction and engineering to gather and coordinate information between personnel at CFB/ASU Edmonton and the Environmental Department to ensure environmental compliance for the military base operations and project activities. This work included me using strong communication skills and technical understanding to gather requirements and personally complete Phase I, II and III investigation and/or managing consultant to complete the work ensure it met regulatory requirements. Part of my duties also included leading energy efficiency improvement at CFB/ASU Edmonton which encouraged efficient use of energy in buildings, focused on clean energy and energy efficiency improvements at the base. -
