As an architectural designer, I contribute to the design and development of relatively equitable projects that address the needs and aspirations of Black communities. I apply my skills to create innovative and impactful solutions that enhance the quality and equity of the built environment. I am interested in conducting research on the intersections of sociology and architecture, focusing on how cultural competency can empower and repair communities that have been historically oppressed and exploited. I am passionate about the empowerment of marginalized communities and advocate for designing with communities via participatory architecture. I believe that design thinking, as well as equitably designed built environments, can contribute towards the self-reparation of these communities. My goal is to use my education and experience to advance the social, economic, and ecological justice agenda in the field of architecture and design.
