I double-majored in Asian Studies with a focus in linguistics and East Asia and in Language Studies: Teaching ESL Abroad, traveling to Japan and South Korea for semesters abroad and returning to Japan for an internship with IES Tokyo. I gathered critical experience in learning languages and living and working abroad, and took that with me to France where I studied French pastry at Gastronomicom Culinary Academy. Earning a four month internship at Michelin starred restaurant La Passagere, I continued my education from Chef Steve Moracchini before returning to the United States and accepting a position from Chef John Kraus at Patisserie 46. I constantly strive to push myself beyond the perceived boundaries of possibility, creating sweets in the professional kitchen and from my home, all while maintaining hobbies and enhancing skills outside of the kitchen.
