Aeronautical Information Specialist - Obstacle Impact Team
CurrentReviewed and evaluated proposed aeronautical studies and vertical construction projects that meet the notification criteria outlined in CFR 14 Part 77 for potential vertical impact to published or planned instrument flight procedures and provided detailed impact statements to the Obstacle Evaluation Group on these potential flight hazards. Researched, collected, analyzed, and evaluated proposed vertical obstructions and aeronautical data extracted from worldwide imagery and data sources and recommended alternative solutions to complex problems; converted data into textual summaries through the use of computer assisted mapping technology, computer systems, and specialized software for use in supporting all phases of the Obstacle Evaluation/Airport Airspace Analysis (OE/AAA) process. Conducted detailed hazard analysis and provided detailed summaries to the FAA Aeronautical Information Services Group and Obstacle Evaluation Group utilizing the concepts and principles contained in FAA Order 8260.3 Terminal Instrument Procedures Development, FAA Order 8260.19 Flight Procedures and Airspace, and all other applicable Orders, Directives, and guidelines pertaining to TERPS and obstruction evaluation.
