I currently work in the Social Media and Marketing department at KCK Public Libraries. However, for years I worked as a Library Associate directly with the underprivileged and marginalized community of Kansas City, Kansas. Every day I was thanked profusely by individuals left behind in the digital divide that I helped in our computer lab. These experiences are the root of my passion for advocacy and human-centered design.Designing user experiences from an empathetic and inclusive approach helps me advocate for those excluded from those spaces. I love each part of the process. Sketching out wireframes and bringing them to life with high-fidelity prototypes fulfills my creative side. I am at my best when working with people to solve problems with ideas we can turn into a complete and all-inclusive product. Researching, mapping out experiences, creating accessible interfaces, and interviewing actual users allows me to truly understand people and advocate for them in the spaces I design.I am looking for new opportunities to use my design and research skills to solve problems and keep learning.
