In addition to the job itself, the restaurant was situated next to a pub, which consequently meant loud music and interacting with intoxicated customers, creating a high-stress environment. I was able to adjust to these conditions and gained skills relating to working under pressure and stress.

The training at Five Guys emphasised attention to detail and quality control, which I had to master to decrease customer complaints and increase customer satisfaction. The specific store I worked at was the first in Australia for the franchise, which resulted in extremely high numbers of customers for the first few months. Because of these circumstances, I had to rely on time management, problem solving, communication and working well under pressure in addition to skills like customer service, team work, organisation etc.
