I interviewed to be an usher at the Victoria Playhouse Petrolia during the Spring of 2016 after my first year at university. In my interview with Co-Artistic Director David Hogan, we discussed my dance studies at Wayne State University. In less than a month, I opened the Victoria Playhouse Petrolia 2016 season, dancing in my first professional theatre show, Scotland Sings! The summer of 2016 began a nearly 8-year journey with the Victoria Playhouse. Wearing many hats throughout my career there, including stage management and scenic art, I eventually landed as the Head of Production and Design. Co-Artistic Director David Rogers fostered my passion for design, and Co-Artistic Director David Hogan turned me into an incredible leader and manager. However, I will never forget my first 4 months as an usher, with Laurissa Ellsworth to thank for understanding I belonged in the Back of House rather than the Front.
