My name is Brett Maddox and I'm a senior finance major at Jacksonville State University graduating in December 2024. In the past, I have had experience training dogs that go into military or law enforcement. I have also spent time volunteering at a dog rescue center where I would maintain a facility and be responsible to make sure every dog got good exercise. During my time at JSU I have gained knowledge on how to better use computers such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, PowerPoints, and Microsoft Word. Outside of the classroom I have used my time in my fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha to be involved on the executive board for 3 years as well as learn life skills. One year I served as External VP where I managed a cabinet of about 6-7 chairmen, and I would be involved in everything they did. Some of the positions I was over included philanthropy and community service. My philanthropy chair and I was able to set up a golf tournament that has now become an annual event for the fraternity as a whole. We even broke the record for philanthropy money raised and we were able to raise $15,000 for the Gary Sinise Foundation. I've also served on committees while being on executive board to help gain more knowledge. These include the financial committee, recruitment team, and interviewing team.
